Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit: wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad - Miles Kington
“Don’t eat too much fruit, it’s packed full of sugar”
Let’s clear this up right here, right now…
Fruit gets a bad name because it contains sugar
Which, “spikes blood sugar and insulin levels therefore gets stored as fat.”
That sounds reasonable, what’s there to clear up, I hear you ask?
Fruit is grown from the earth.
Fruit is unprocessed and intended for animal consumption from the universe.
The above description of blood sugar and insulin spikes?
And even if insulin did equal fat storage
Fruit still wouldn’t play a role in fat storage
Because fruit contains fibre
Fibre slows down the digestion of nutrients,
Meaning the blood sugar spike when you eat fruit, minimal
In fact, there are various research studies that have shown fruit HELPS to regulate blood sugar levels
Blueberries in particular
Take home message. Please don’t avoid fruit
You can safely eat fruit within a calorie-controlled diet and you will NOT gain body fat
